Footprints

Illustrated by Kalina Muhova

Meet Lucy. She may look familiar, but her story began 3.6 million years ago.

This beautifully illustrated book imagines her world as she roams ancient landscapes with knife-toothed cats and towering giraffes, while navigating raging volcanoes and fierce storms.

Inspired by the discoveries of Lucy’s skeleton and the Laetoli footprints, Footprints blends scientific breakthroughs with engaging storytelling, offering a unique glimpse into our shared evolutionary past.

Young Discoverers

Illustrated by Violaine Leroy

Discover the incredible true stories of children who have changed how we see the world.

From fossilised creatures and ancient treasures to mysterious scrolls and glimmering gems, Young Discoverers is a thrilling collection of real-life tales about some of the most astonishing discoveries ever made and the young people who made them.

Comic Strip Myths

I loved writing these three comic book collections, which took several years to bring to completion. Each one features six main stories, with a fabulous cast of heroes, monsters and badly-behaved gods.

The Ancient Egypt Sleepover

Mo has won a very special prize: an Ancient Egypt sleepover in a museum. However, he has no clue how dangerous it will turn out to be. With a mystery to solve, hieroglyphic codes to crack and priceless treasure to save, one thing is sure: Mo will not be getting any sleep tonight!

The Ancient Egypt Sleepover is my most widely-read book, It consists of twenty-one short chapters, perfect for reading aloud in class. It is thrilling but also realistic, making it the go-to fiction choice for primary school teachers covering Ancient Egypt in KS2 history.

Survivor: Titanic

At that moment, the big bell up in the crow’s nest clanged three times.

“Iceberg!” yelled the lookout.

“Iceberg, right ahead!”

Titanic is supposed to be unsinkable, but when the ship strikes an iceberg in the dead of night, she will sink within three hours. Can twelve-year-old Jimmy help his friends and family escape an icy death in the waters of the Atlantic?

So long, Hilda!

Hilda and Twig standing beside the Stephen Davies Hilda tie-in books

All good things must come to an end. I loved writing the nine TV tie-in books for Hilda, but the licence was for a limited time and the books are now out of print.

You can find second-hand editions of these books on Ebay or World Of Books.

I still have one complete set of all nine books in pristine condition. If you are collector and would like to buy this set, drop me a line.

The books above are suitable for Key Stage 2 (7 to 11 year-olds), but I also write for younger and older readers. Click below to explore further.
