Able Writers and AIM High
Bespoke writing days for able and enthusiastic young writers, including the AIM High programme with Authors Abroad
An unforgettable day for able writers
For over ten years, I have been running AIM High creative writing days up and down the country. The aim is to build on what pupils have learned in their English lessons, stretch them with more advanced techniques and inspire them to take up writing as a hobby.
An AIM High writing day brings together able writers from four or five neighbouring schools. Sustained periods of writing are interspersed with practical tuition on characterisation, description, dialogue, plotting and Show Don’t Tell. At the end of the day, each child leaves with a story they can be proud of, along with useful writing tips that will serve them throughout their schooling.
